The Valley of Little Hearts is a Ukrainian cultural and educational book project that combines children’s literature, original illustration, creative activities, coloring books, and practical guidance for parents and educators.
The project focuses on emotional accessibility – creating a space where every child can feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgment, pity, pressure, or the need to become more “convenient” or “correct.”
Each story can become a ready-to-use creative session built around a simple structure: story → conversation questions → creative activity → coloring page → practical guidance for an adult. Through stories and creativity, children can safely explore difficult emotions, express what may still be hard to put into words, recognize their inner strengths, and take their next small step.
The long-term vision of The Valley of Little Hearts includes a series of seven books and more than 100 original stories. Each story can be developed into a separate creative session, gradually forming an extensive and accessible library of materials that adults can select according to the child’s current emotional needs.
The project already includes 32 original stories, two published children’s books, coloring materials, and methodological resources. The materials address fear, loneliness, self-acceptance, friendship, loss, hope, confidence, courage, and other important childhood experiences.
With the support of partners and donors, selected digital materials could be made available free of charge to children, families, educators, libraries, and other community spaces.
The project does not replace psychological, psychotherapeutic, or medical support. Its purpose is to help children feel less alone with their emotions and to provide adults with gentle, understandable tools for meaningful connection.
