Taste of Inspiration is an international art and wellbeing project curated by Anna Mykhalchuk and Yuliia Hubarieva, bringing together 26 Ukrainian artists from Ukraine and the diaspora through the visual language of Samchykivka – Ukrainian folk art.
The project celebrates Ukrainian cultural heritage, women’s creativity, resilience and the healing power of artistic expression.
Each participating artist created an artwork inspired by Samchykivka — a vibrant Ukrainian folk art tradition rich in floral motifs, symbolic forms, rhythm and colour.
These artworks became part of the Rising Swallow / Політ Ластівки metaphorical card deck, created to support reflection, inner strength, self-awareness and emotional renewal. The project connects art with wellbeing, offering a gentle visual tool for personal reflection, women’s circles, creative practices and art-therapy sessions.
In 2026, the project was presented as the exhibition Taste of Inspiration at Moonah Arts Centre in Tasmania, Australia, introducing Australian audiences to contemporary Ukrainian women’s art, cultural storytelling and the evolving tradition of Samchykivka.
Through exhibition, collaboration and community engagement, Taste of Inspiration creates a bridge between Ukraine, Europe and Australia — showing how cultural heritage can continue to live, travel and support people across borders.
