Take a Seat is a social mosaic project inspired by an initiative by Ukrainian women in the Netherlands who came together to create a public mosaic bench representing Ukraine’s regions.

I want to bring this idea back to Ukraine and develop it into a nationwide community art project.

The first Take a Seat bench is planned for Odesa, where I currently live. The project will bring together local mosaic artists, residents, volunteers, and supporters to create a public mosaic bench together. In this place, people can literally take a seat, meet, and connect.

The mosaic will become a visual representation of Ukraine, created collectively by people from different backgrounds and communities.

My long-term vision is to create a Take a Seat mosaic in every city in Ukraine, making each one a unique local artwork while connecting them through a shared concept.

The project is currently at the development stage. I am looking for funding, partners, mosaic artists, community organisations, and people interested in helping bring the first project in Odesa to life.
