MYTI LITA is my story of forced migration and of rebuilding a relationship with a new place to call home.
Although these analogue photographs were created in the peaceful and safe environment of Kraków, they still carry the imprint of my inner state and remain inseparable from the constant awareness of war, struggle, and fear.
The project emerged from the experience of living in two realities at once. Physical displacement does not sever the emotional and psychological connection to home. Everyday life unfolds alongside the constant flow of news about shelling, anxiety for friends and family, the grief of loss and pain, and the persistent presence of war within one’s consciousness.
This experience creates a state of divided reality, in which physical presence here constantly coexists with emotional presence there. Living in a place of safety does not erase the pain; it simply adds another layer to existence.
