Bridges of Voices is an interdisciplinary multilingual performance project created and performed by Ukrainian interdisciplinary artist Mariia Samoilenko, currently based in Denmark.
The project received initial development support from the Nordic Culture Fund. An early research and development version of the project was presented in April 2026 in a theatre context in Wales in the form of a performative reading and vocal performance, while the project itself continues evolving toward a broader interdisciplinary performance format.
Through voice, multilingual texts, songs, sound, movement, and visual elements, the project explores voice as memory, testimony, cultural connection, and artistic response to war and displacement across different cultural contexts.
Developed through artistic work between Ukraine, Denmark, and Wales, the project has created bridges between languages, songs, and experiences of migration, cultural memory, and listening. As an evolving and mobile performance format, Bridges of Voices can continue developing through collaborations and adapt to different countries, venues, languages, and audiences.
I am currently interested in connecting with theatres, festivals, residency programs, interdisciplinary performance platforms, producers, and cultural organisations interested in supporting the further development, presentation, and international circulation of the project.
The work also remains open to selective collaborations with visual, multimedia, or sound artists that could further expand its performative language while maintaining its mobile and adaptable structure.
