Natalia
Українка
Natalia is a contemporary abstract artist whose practice is centered on the physical and emotional qualities of color, texture, and spatial balance. Her work explores color not only as a visual element, but also as a material presence and tactile structure.+
Using heavy paste, layered surfaces, and controlled compositions, she creates paintings that emphasize depth, rhythm, and the interaction between texture and light. Working primarily with a minimal palette, Natalia is interested in how limited color relationships can produce complex emotional atmospheres. Rather than relying on narrative imagery, her paintings focus on sensory perception, tension, restraint, and the psychological impact of abstraction.
The materiality of the surface plays a central role in her process: dense textures, subtle transitions, and physical layers become part of the visual language itself. Her artistic approach combines spontaneity with structural control, allowing intuitive gestures to coexist with carefully balanced compositions. Influenced by contemporary abstraction, color field traditions, and minimalist aesthetics, she creates works that are intended to alter the emotional tone of a space while maintaining a strong physical presence.
Natalia studied at an art school before beginning a professional career in UI/UX design, where she developed a strong sensitivity to composition, balance, and visual communication. After years of working in digital design, she decided to return to physical art practice, focusing on painting as a more direct, material form of expression. Her transition from digital environments back to tactile media continues to shape her artistic language and process.
