In Krakow’s Kazimierz district, slightly off the beaten track, in post-industrial buildings, a small non-governmental organization runs an extraordinary museum: the Galicia Jewish Museum. This place has been around for 20 years – 20 years that have seen dozens of exhibitions, hundreds of cultural events, and thousands of workshops, lectures, and discussions.
The Galicia Jewish Museum, established in April 2004 by Chris Schwarz, a British photographer, in collaboration with British anthropologist Jonathan Webber, has been serving all those who want to learn about and understand Jewish history and culture for two decades.
Over the past 20 years, we have organized countless exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and discussions. Since 2004, we have welcomed tens of thousands of visitors from Poland and other countries. We want to continue to show everyone interested in the diversity of Jewish culture and heritage.
