Українка
I was born in 1994 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
I graduated from the Kyiv National Theatre, Cinema and Television University named by Ivan Karpenko-Karyi with a degree in Feature Film Directing. In 2012, I directed a short film based on my own screenplay, which received more than 30 nominations and awards at international film festivals. In 2017, I won a competition organized by the Ukrainian State Film Agency with an original screenplay and directed a short film based on it, which was successfully screened both in Ukraine and internationally. In 2021, I became a finalist in the screenplay competition of the Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival. This year, I also won a competition from Sweet.TV.
I am also engaged in literary work. My original novella Labyrinth was selected for adaptation and narration on Polish Radio. Six of my short stories have been published in the anthologies “Freedom. Dignity. War” and “Alchemy of Short Prose.” One of my short stories, “The Mermaid and the Blue Eyes,” won two competitions and was also published in a magazine and an anthology. I have recently completed my novel “Fox’s Paw,” started working on a new novel “My Friend Banshee,” and am currently developing the feature film screenplay “Steel Heart.”
At the same time, I work in photography, primarily focusing on collaborations with music projects, while also developing my own author-driven work.
Following the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, I relocated to Vienna, Austria. Nevertheless, I continue to write in Ukrainian and actively promote Ukrainian culture within European society.
