The Art of Healing was a six-month creative wellbeing and empowerment programme developed by SENSI HCA in Rome in 2024 and funded through the PartecipAzione grant of UNHCR and INTERSOS.
The project supported refugees and migrants through art therapy, storytelling, mindful gallery, Capoeira, cultural activities, psychological education and sustainable creativity, creating spaces for emotional expression, resilience, personal growth and social connection.
Within the programme, SENSI HCA also organised a dedicated series of psycho-educational and psycho-social support sessions for Ukrainian women affected by forced displacement, exploring resilience during war, grief and loss, self-esteem, women’s wellbeing and social integration.
The project concluded with a public final event in Rome under the patronage of Capital of Rome, Nobel Women Initiative, UNESCO Andorra, UNHCR and INTERSOS, bringing the community together through an art exhibition, networking, live music performance and documentary screening, celebrating the participants’ journeys and creating a space for intercultural connection and dialogue.
