Olha Krіuchkovska is a multidisciplinary artist working with painting, collage and mixed media installations. Her practice explores the traces left by people and the changing relationships between nature, memory and cultural identity. Born in Kherson, Ukraine, and living in Sweden since 2022, she explores how migration, war and collective trauma transform both landscapes and inner states. Using layered materials and tactile surfaces, she creates visual narratives that oscillate between abstraction and landscape, presence and disappearance. Kriuchkovska’s works are in private collections in Sweden, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, Germany and the USA, Canada, Georgia, Turkey, Poland, and she is a member of the Swedish Artists’ Union. She also teaches art in her long-term educational project Ptashka.In addition to her artistic practice, she works as a designer on various cultural projects and provides organizational support for events. She actively promotes Ukrainian culture abroad by initiating projects that engage Ukrainian artists and foster cultural dialogue with Europe.

Artistic Statement

My work examines the fragile connections between humans, nature, and time. I use painting, collage, and textile‑based techniques to explore how landscapes absorb memory, trauma, and cultural transformation. Migration and war have reshaped my understanding of home, belonging, and the marks we leave behind. Through layered surfaces, traces, and fragments, I investigate how personal and collective histories coexist within a single visual field. I am interested in the tension between what disappears and what remains, and how materiality can hold emotional and historical weight. Each work becomes a site of reconstruction — of identity, of memory, of the relationship between the human body and the environment.
