Name:

Olga

Nationality:

Ukrainian

About Me:

I am an artist, art historian and researcher. I hold a PhD in art history. I work at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv as an associate professor. I teach both theoretical and practical courses, and I supervise doctoral students’ research projects.

My main research area is Ukrainian and Polish art of the 20th and early 21st centuries, which I have studied for more than 20 years. I am (the) author of an educational Telegram channel called “Art of Poland in the 20th Century.” @poland_art

I am also a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

In my own art, I bring together the world of art and the world of research. I work in several different techniques, lately in paper-cutting.

Among my creative projects, I would like to highlight my work in straw appliqué, an original technique of mine, which has been shown at eight solo exhibitions.

A special focus of my work is exploring Ukrainian cultural heritage and bringing it into the context of contemporary art. I find inspiration in Ukrainian folk art, and I try to rethink and modernize traditional art forms.

Over the last year, I have become interested in paper-cutting and I recently had a solo exhibition in Kraków showing the work I made during this time.

I regularly run workshops for both children and adults. I also have experience organizing art and academic events, leading creative workshops, and preparing exhibitions. I am open to new projects and creative collaboration.
