I am a contemporary artist from Ukraine, currently residing in Mannheim, Germany. In my practice, I explore themes of trauma, corporeality, identity, and heritage through figurative painting, combining bodily imagery with textual elements and Ukrainian folk ornaments as carriers of collective memory. Drawing on both personal experience and collective symbols, I examine the complex interplay between past and present, the individual and the collective.
I aim to express how identity is shaped by both visible and invisible forces — by traumas passed down through history and family, as well as by the potential for healing and metamorphosis. My practice becomes a process of restoration, reinterpretation, and transformation of what has been silenced or forgotten into something that can be seen, felt, and experienced anew.
