Kateryna is an artist and filmmaker who works at the intersection between documentary cinema, video art and text. She often uses rudimentary technology, such as cameras designed for children, to experiment with form and perspective, and deals with themes of memory and home. For Kateryna, art is a dialogue and an attempt to record events that never happened. She studied sociology, which led her to incorporate academic research into her practice. She also spent a year creating videos advocating for animal rights. During a trip to the active warzone, she shot a documentary film, which has been screened in Ukraine, Europe and the US.
