Oksana (bykrasulya)

Nationality:

About Me:

I am a self-taught mosaic artist based in Odesa, Ukraine, with IDP status from the Sumy region. My practice began as a personal response to the war—slow, hands-on work that helped me stay grounded when everything around me felt uncertain.

I work primarily with sea stones collected from the Black Sea shore, combined with glass mosaic, wood, and found objects. Some materials carry direct traces of the war — spent shell casings, glass shattered in russian attacks. I collect what time leaves behind and fix it into something permanent.

My work sits between craft and contemporary art. I don’t paint or draw — I collect, arrange, and fix. The process is repetitive and meditative. The result is permanent.

I am the founder of NGO “People” and am developing a concept for a community mosaic studio in Odesa — a space where IDPs and veterans can work with their hands and slow down.

In May 2026 I participated in my first public exhibition, organized by the Odesa Regional State Administration
